Good morning ya’ll! I hope you are having an incredible week so far! We certainly are here at Eat Pray Wife as we continue our journey through Israel and the Holy Land. If you are just stopping by and haven’t checked out the first part of our trip, feel free to jump back and read about our first couple of days here!
These are excavated grounds of Megiddo. The significance of this place is great as it over looks the valley where the final battle of Armageddon will take place. These are the stairs that lead to an underground water supply. The people who lived in this area many years ago could only access water by climbing down into a small little tunnel to retrieve their water for the day. This is a landmark known as the Shepherd’s field. Inside are beautiful paintings and artistry presenting the birth of Christ. This is overlooking the excavations of the IV-V-VI Byzantine Church and Monastery.Between those two mountains is said to be the location where Jesus was tempted 3 times. This is the Sycamore Tree that the wee little Zacchaeus climbed to see Jesus.Camels seriously just love me.JK!!! This little lady almost threw me off!On the road again heading to Jerusalem! But first, we took a little stop in Bethlehem. This was mirroring the Church of the Nazarene in Bethlehem, which is the location they say that Jesus was born.We ended the day in a shop inside Bethlehem that is known for their beautiful jewelry and olive wood carvings. This little lady happened to be working with her dad and helped me pick out the most beautiful necklace!
That pretty much sums up our day! Tomorrow, we have more fun things planned, and I can’t wait to share them with you all!
