Good morning beautiful people of blogger world 😘 I hope you are having a fantastic weekend! For the next couple of weeks, we are based in Israel and already loving every minute! If you aren’t caught up on our trip yet, be sure to read these 3 posts first!
- Summer in Jerusalem
- Israel + Day 2
- When you wake up on your birthday to the sounds of waves crashing on the Sea of Galilee
Today was more of an R&R day for us, so my mother-in-law and sister-in-law took me out for a birthday lunch. Since it’s Saturday, most of the shops and restaurants were closed, but we found a nice little Israeli Shwarma grill and enjoyed a delicious meal! They even surprised me with a little birthday cake!!
We walked through a couple of street shops that were opened. I was really surprised to see some similar styles that we found in Thailand earlier this spring. We spotted lots of flowy pants and maxi skirts, both perfect for the weather here! Everyone was really kind and welcomed us!
We stopped by a little port on the Sea of Galilee, and seriously, the view could not have been better! Everything is just so different and picturesque.
Then, we made our way back to the hotel and enjoyed some time out by the pool. Fun fact: the man working the front desk told me this morning that it’s the largest pool in Tiberias 🙌🏼
What a day! I’m so grateful for this trip and the chance to see both cultural sites on our tours along with more local spots like we visited today. I definitely felt like one of the locals walking through the streets in Tiberias this afternoon! I’ll check back in tomorrow as we sail the Sea of Galilee and get baptized in the Jordan River!
