Hey! Hey! Hey! Happy HumpDay!! If you’ve been reading our blog for any length of time, by now you know that we love us a good strong Proverbs 31 woman. We’ve spent a lot of time talking through what this looks like and how this idea fits in to the lives of us modern, current day women. This post is a bit of a continuation from the last time we referenced Proverbs 31, and we hope you will enjoy!
I had the privilege of meeting a woman about 6 years ago. She was strong and bold, powerful and respected, loving and nurturing, all in one. She could tell you No in the most endearing way and deny your requests while maintaining a lovely level of respect for you. With one word, she could take immediate control of a crowd of 200+ children. I’ll admit, when I first met her, I had no idea that she would become known to me as a Noble Woman. I may have even underestimated her power, but it was not too long before I realized that she was a Woman of God, and she was someone whom I wanted to become.
I wrote this about a month or two ago after seeing this woman again, and I want to share it with you:
A Woman of Noble Character // Villa Carmen, Nicaragua
Proverbs 31 describes a Godly woman in full detail mentioning how she does not fear the future and how she can laugh at the days to come. It talks about how she prepares her home thinking not only of today, and how she is well respected and takes care of those around her. The lady in this photograph is Proverbs 31.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity… She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue… She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.”
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
When she speaks, the children listen and follow her instructions precisely. They fear her disappointment but throw themselves into her for a hug. In her community, she is the glue. She brings people together, keeps their focus on the Lord, and gives all that she is to those in need.

As you continue to learn what your version of a Woman of Noble Character looks like, I encourage you to look out into your community. Once you can find her, you can place her. & once you can place her, you can become her. I believe we are all Proverbs 31 women just working our way into become all that this chapter entails. At the end of our lives, when we look back at all we have accomplished and experienced, I hope we are able to see where we followed in the steps of other Noble Women and where we pioneered new paths for future Noble Women.
